All this music Oppo got me thinking. What are your radio presets? Terrestrial or Satillite. Just general, no need for call signs or anything. No need to mention if you exclusively listen to a phone/MP3.

1.) local college station, variety of programming, this is my most common station

2.) non I<3 radio classic rock station. Not my favorite selection but I like the dj’s.

3.) NPR. Sometimes you have to know how many children were blown up today. On the other hand I love Prarie Home Companion and Wait, Wait, Don’t Tell Me.

4.) popular classic rock station with Bob and Tom. Probably just like yours.

5.) classical station.

6.) modern rock station. Again, just like yours.

FM presets are all BBC radio stations, Radia 1, Radio 2, Radio 3, Radio 4, Radio 5, Radio Cumbria, ClassicFM and the a local radio station CFM, but I often I listen to DAB digital radio, BFBS (British Forces Broadcasting Service).

I would have 1 as BBC Radio 1, 2 as BFBS and then 3 as ClassicFM but I like the home FM screen to be neat and all in order.

From 1-9, followed by 0:

1) NPR Classical

2)NPR Jazz

3) “adult hits”

4) Variety/Top 40

5) Top 40 I think its the local Kiss FM station.

6) MIX 101.5 WITH GENE AND JULIE IN THE MORNING!!!! AND THE WRAL TV NEWS BROADCAST LIVE AT 6 FOR YOUR COMMUTE HOME!!!! LIVE TRAFFIC UPDATES FROM THE MICHAEL AND SON PLUMBING ON TIME TTAFFIC CENTER!!!!! ... So I guess you would call it adult contemporary.

7) Pulse FM

8) 102.9 WKIX FM raleigh, CAROLINA’S GREATEST HIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIITS, 102 POINT NIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIINE! 90% of the time this is what’s on. They play Casey Casem’s old AT40 on the weekends and 60's through the early 90's during the week.

9) Top 40

0) NPR

I don’t do FM anymore, partly because the FM antenna (or cable) in my DD is shot so the reception is terrible. I do have DAB+ digital radio in my car though, which does work fine. I listen to Studio Brussels at home (which is foreign to me, so internet-only), and some alternative stations which also are internet only.

In the car I’m adjusting as my DAB+ radio is new and although it works fine the interface is horrible. I still have to streamline that some way and find the stations I like.

If I don’t find something on the radio I whip out the phone and stream via bluetooth or usb. MP3s, because I’m old school and I like to listen to albums rather than individual songs. Some of the albums (artists) on my phone to show the variety: Led Zeppelin, Charles Bradley, Interpol, Rammstein, Tame Impala and Queens of the Stone Age (Rated R).

When in the US last month we made it a rule to try all these local stations. It was baffling how many religion-based stations there were. I don’t think I’ve ever heard even one in Europe on FM. We did listen to one of these preacher-delivering-a-sermon channels for a while for the alienating wtf-experience. He preached about not falling into the trap of all these scientists and comedians with their so called facts. It made us laugh out loud.

1. WRTI , a jazz (and classical) station, and pretty much the only radio station I ever listen to.

WRTI is on 90.1, so the rest of my presents follow sequentially in ascending frequencies, even though I never really listen to them.

2. Local NPR station.

3. Local classic rock station.

4. Local classic rock station.

5. ????

6. ????

Since I can’t even complete the list, here’s a bonus list of what’s in my CD changer:

1. Blur – Modern Life is Rubbish

2. Blur – 13

3. Blur – Think Tank

4. Thelonious Monk – Misterioso

5. Thelonious Monk and Sonny Rollins – Monk and Rollins

6. Art Blakey and the Jazz Messengers – A Night in Tunisia

My gf has been working at the restaurant out in the Hamptons all summer so I’ve been making that 2 hour drive a lot, been listening to lot of NPR, pretty much the only FM I’ll listen to.

Otherwise Pandora thru my phone.

On Sirius, BPM, Chill, Classic Vinyl, Classic Rewind, Hits 1, and Pop2K. On FM it’s hits, classic rock, and alternative.

I’ve been thinking about picking up a small USB to plug into an unused port and just load it with EDM

1. WIYY, rock station for their morning show.

2. WWDC, rock station because I never changed it.

3 to 6 are XM stations but I am no longer a subscriber.

Usually music or a podcast off a sd card or bluetooth to my phone.

1. 87.7 for my radio transmitter. I play through my phone 80% of the time

2. Delightfully weird variety station here in St. Louis. It’s 88.1 KDHX for any of you locals.

3. Classic rock

4 and 5. There are two stations that play old school hip hop and r&b/soul. Usually one of the two will have whichever I’m in the mood for. 95.5 is especially Motownish.

6. Idk, probably top 40 or christian radio

As for my CDs stuffed in a mesh pocket by the passenger seat:

Led Zeppelin III

Eric Clapton Unplugged

Dark Side of the Moon

It's not a big pocket.

My car offers 12 presets and good enough reception to fill them all. I have like 4 classic rock, 3 top 40, 2 flavors of NPR, classic adult alternative, contemporary adult alternative, and a local easy listening station that’s always good for hearing something new.

That’s just FM1. If I switch to FM2 I get 12 more presets but I don’t use them.

All terrestrial. I had a free XM trial in my I’ll-fated ‘11 Malibu, and I wasn’t impressed. Now they won’t stop sending me mail, email, and even calling me trying to get me to subscribe, even though I got rid of that POS nearly two years ago.

Anyways, I have NPR and a few various classic rock stations. I wish we had one that plays Bob and Tom on it.

For terrestrial radio (1-12)

1: alternative

2: KCKK 93.7 (The weirdest station ever, they will play virtually any popular song from the 60's to current hits with no real structure or flow, and all of their DJs are super-schlocky and corny like from 30-40 years ago. I love it. http://www.937therock.com/ )

3. pop

4. classic rock/alternative

5. classic rock

6. adult contemporary

7. adult contemporary that is even more adult contemporary than the other adult contemporary station

8. classic hip-hop/R&B

9. comedy

10. local sports talk (I admit, this is the station I listen to most)

11. oldies (I cringe every time I hear No Doubt)

12. pop

For satellite, I have 18 presets. The first six are all either alternative/college-rock or 80's, 90's. The middle six are NFL radio, 4 comedy stations and 1 preset that alternates between NPR (for Car Talk on the weekend) or 167 (Canadian talk, but that’s where they put the CFL games). The third six are random; two dance music channels and Hits 1 (for my partner), classic hip-hop, Yacht Rock (awesome), and Classic Rewind.

Oh, I almost forgot, I actually have a CD in at the moment. It’s “Robyn is Here”. Yeah, I like pop music. (Actually, I pretty much like all music genres, except for 99% of the Country music made since 1990.)

The only reason I’m willing to pay for Sirius at all is the NFL package. Being able to listen to both teams’ play-by-play is fun. Listen to the Bengals play-by-play team, it’s one regular play-by-play caller and another guy who is just openly cheering for the Bengals, like they pulled a random Bengals fan out of the stands to do commentary.

I do enjoy the Yacht Rock station, though (18). It’s all music my parents were listening to when I was 5.

If you still have a radio, they’re doing a free trial through Sept. 6.

I could see that being fun.

They send me offers for free trials all the time. I’m not interested. It just didn’t do anything for me.
